The “Fairy Tales of Hope” project was
originally launched in 2004, with the goal of providing
funding for carefully screened partner charitable
organizations. It is the brainchild of photographer
and artistic director Diane Wilson, who is herself
dealing with the debilitation of MS.
This year Fairy Tales of Hope is excited to be working
for therapeutic riding, and specifically together
with CARD, the Community Association for Riding for
the Disabled, whose motto is “A Magical Connection”.
Card’s mission is to improve the lives of children
and adults with disabilities through quality therapeutic
riding programs. Since 1969 CARD, a registered charity
has proudly provided this unique form of therapy for
people with disabilities with success that can be
described as “Magic”. Every day, riders
experience the “hope and joy” that therapeutic
riding brings to their lives by improving their well
being - physically, cognitively and emotionally.
The 2006 calendar encompasses an equine theme in
its presentation, and most of the models featured
are children and adults with disabilities who benefit
from therapeutic riding as part of their treatment.
This year’s photographic images of fairy tale
scenes with therapeutic horses use magical, hand-illustrated
scenery to tell stories of hope for families and children,
while focusing on their beauty rather than the disability.
The images are the result of long hours of collaboration
with many artisans, most of whom have donated their
time and expertise to the project.
We invite you to experience the magic that you will
find within the pages of this storybook calendar,
and encourage you to share the calendar as a gift
with your colleagues, employees, suppliers, friends,
and family. The price is $20 (taxes in + shipping)
and the calendar can be ordered on the websites at
fairytalesofhope.com or card.ca.
